Telegraaf Media Group publishing house invited the former editor-in-chief of Ekonomicheskie
Izvestiya [Economic News] newspaper to take the chief editor’s office at Obzor
[Review] free daily newspaper. The first newspaper issue signed by m-r Svirko
was published on 25 June.
Maximum
Consulting media agency won the tender for full media services for Tiger Asset
Management company. The agency will do strategic media planning and media
buying for this client. The financial terms of the tender and the budget of
expected advertising campaign were not disclosed.
MediaExpert advertising agency (Havas Media’s partner) won the tender
for Telesystemy Ukrainy
telecommunications company (PEOPLEnet
trademark) full media services. Tatyana
Popova, the Director General at MediaExpert,
told this to MediaBusiness. The financial terms of the tender were not
disclosed.
According to Dzerkalo Tyzhnia weekly
newspaper, in the end of May the Desnyansky District Court of Kyiv satisfied the
claim of Yury Sydorenko, the Head of the EDAPS consortium, against the Biznes
newspaper. The latter was adjudged to give to m-r Sydorenko UAH 22 m in compensation
for moral injury.
During the next half year the national version of Harper's
Bazaar, an American weekly women’s magazine, may launch in Ukraine. The potential publisher
is IM Ukraina, a subsidiary of Independent Media Sanoma Magazines publishing house.
The official opening ceremony of the
9th Kyiv International Advertising Festival, the main advertising
festival of Ukraine, took place today, Wednesday 28 May.
Euro RSCG New Europe won
the tender for media services for two brands of First Realty Group corporation,
Blagovest and Park Lane real estate agencies. The service period will last from May 2008 till April 2009. The information about the contract price and the planned media strategy
was not disclosed.
Starcom advertising
agency is ready to conduct international audit to prove the fulfillment of its
contractual commitments to ZAO Telesystemy Ukrainy (PEOPLEnet trade mark). It was reported by Interfaks Ukraina news agency.
Six categories of projects will be evaluated
at the Media Projects contest which is one of 14 contests of the 9th Kyїv
International Advertising Festival (KIAF).
On 5 April, Ukrainian Media Holding publishing house released the first issue
of Misto+ (City+) free advertising
paper in Kryvy Rih. Weekly paper Udacha (Luck),
also by UMH, was launched here
earlier. So for the moment , a total declared weekly circulation of UMH’s free publications in Kryvy Rih
amounts to 145,000 copies. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
As Rynok.Biz (www.rynok.biz) (with a reference to Interfaks Ukraina) reports, Ekonomicheskie Izvestiya (Economic News) publishing house ended 2007 financial year at a net loss of UAH 8 million (about $1,6 million). Meanwhile, a
registered capital of the company increased from UAH 0,25 million to UAH 19,9
million, its current liabilities grew 6 times to UAH 10,8 million, and its receivables
decreased by 19,2% to UAH 5,3 million.
Ekonomicheskie Izvestiya publishing house publishes a daily economic newspaper of the same
title and its additions. It is a part of Media Invest Grupp, as well as Ekspert
Ukraina, Vesch (Thing), Driver and Metal magazines, and MS Group ad sales agency.
Ekonomicheskie Izvestiya publishing house is controlled by Industrialny Soyuz
Donbassa (Industrial Union of Donbass). Its director general is Andriy Radyuk.
Ukrainian
Media Holding added the third regional classified advertiser to
its portfolio. Vostochny Kuryer (Eastern
Courier) advertising paper was acquired by UMH
from its Luhansk partner, OOO Media Vostok
(Media East). The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to information
obtained by MediaBusiness, UMH is
going to invest UAH 15 million for development of Vostochny Kuryer (Eastern Courier) and its other classified advertisers.
Chistaya
Pribyl (Net Profit) business weekly magazine (by U.A. Inter Mediа Group)
so far is going to be distributed via subscription only. This was reported to
MediaBusiness by Andriy Zaytsev, the
editor-in-chief of the magazine. The first issue of Chistaya Pribyl (Net Profit) was published in the middle of March. The
magazine’s price per one issue amounts to UAH 20 (almost $4). Perhaps in the
future Chistaya Pribyl (Net Profit) will
be distributed by retail channels also. At this stage, however, it is
economically inadvisable, the publishers believe.
Voting for the National TV Stars of
the 2007 season ended on 15 March. The winners of the Fourth All-Ukrainian TV Star
National Award Contest organized by Telenedelya (TV Week) magazine are going to
be announced in the end of March.
