MediaExpert advertising agency (Havas Media’s partner) won the tender for Telesystemy Ukrainy telecommunications company (PEOPLEnet trademark) full media services. Tatyana Popova, the Director General at MediaExpert, told this to MediaBusiness. The financial terms of the tender were not disclosed.

Ad makers are going to struggle against non-payers with a help of anti-advertising Print

PressCom, one of the leading companies of Ukrainian indoor-video market, announced its intention to fight against dishonest partners with a help of “anti-advertising”. On 14 April, the company launched an indoor video clip telling about OOO MyPack’s defaulted payment. The clip is broadcasted in all-Ukrainian indoor video network (supermarkets, specialized shops, trade malls, restaurants etc.). In such a manner PressCom is trying to force its clients to fulfill their obligations.

As Ekonomicheskie Izvestiya newspaper writes, no resident or non-resident companies with a state-owned share more than 25% are permitted to tender in privatization sale of Ukrtelecom, the monopolist of Ukrainian fixed-line telephony market. This was reported by Dmytro Parfenenko, a vice-chairman of State Property Fund of Ukraine. This condition eliminates all Western-European companies from the list of potential tender participants.

How much time do Ukrainians spend on media? Print

According to the results of TNS Ukraine’s survey over a period of Spring/Summer 2007 (MMI Ukraine 2007/1+2), the Ukrainian people spend nearly 2,5 hours per day sitting by their TV sets. The Ukrainians from 12 to 65 years spend about 17 hours per week watching TV, 7 hours 40 min – listening to the radio, 77 min – reading daily newspapers, 71 min – surfing the Internet. A person on an average goes on foot 10 hours 36 min per week – this allows us to calculate the duration of the potential visual contact with outdoor advertising. As a rule, traveling by public and private transport takes about 4 hours 18 min per week, by underground – about 16 min,  visiting supermarkets – 1 hour 32 min, and visiting cinemas – nearly 9 min. Also Ukrainians give about 51 min per week to reading weekly magazines and newspapers, and about 37 min – to reading monthly magazines.

New advertising holding company IMA group starts working in Ukraine Print

В октябре на украинском рекламном рынке появился новый холдинг – Innovative Media Advertising group. На данный момент в IMA group входят два рекламных агентства: IMA entertainment, специализирующееся на рекламе в кинотеатрах и ночных клубах, а также IMA interactive, предоставляющее полный комплекс услуг по рекламе в Интернет. До конца 2007 г. в составе холдинга должно также появиться креативное агентство.
