Novyi Kanal TV channel ordered from Amedia Ukraina the continuation of “Kolyshnia” (Ex) series Print

Amedia Ukraina company, shooting “Kolyshnia” (Ex) series on the order of Novyi Kanal TV channel, announced about the beginning of new casting sessions. The TV channel’s  executive group took a decision to shoot some additional episodes of the popular TV series, which had 60 episodes according to original plan.    

A representative of Amedia Ukraina told to MediaBusiness that new characters and new plotlines will appear in additional episodes of “Kolyshnia” (Ex) TV series. Besides, some changes are going to take place in the leading cast. Serhiy Mohylevs’kyi has written a new soundtrack for the TV series.   

Amedia Ukraina refused to clarify the exact number of additional episodes ordered by the Novyi Kanal TV channel. According to the information of MediaBusiness, the companies have agreed to continue the melodramatic TV series up to 100 episodes.

We remind that the first episode of “Kolyshnia” (Ex) TV series was broadcasted at Novyi Kanal TV channel on 5 November 2007. Ukrainian TV viewers can watch it on weekdays at 21:15. The maximum  audience share of the TV series (people from 14 to 49 years) was 12.8%.    

The TV channel is working on “Kolyshnia” (Ex) TV series in partnership with Amedia Ukraina. This company is the regional office of the Russian production studio Amedia which shot such popular TV series as “Moya Prekrasnaya Niania” (My Beautiful Nanny), “Tatyanin Den” (The Tatyana’s Day), “Holostiaki” (The Bachelors). The TV series’ production director is Ansar Hallilulin. Among his works is “Ne rodis’ krasivoy” (Better Born Lucky Than Beautiful) TV series.      
 
Novyi Kanal is the Ukrainian nationwide TV channel. The technical coverage of the TV channel is 93%. Its targeted audience is people from 14 to 49 years. In the third quarter of 2007, the Novyi Kanal’s share of audience from 14 to 49 years was 9.5%, its share of audience from 18 years and older was 6.06%. According to MediaBusiness’ estimates, the TV channel’s revenues from commercial advertising dutind the first three quarters of 2007 amounted to $40-45 million. Novyi Kanal, ICTV, STB and M1 are parts of Chetviorka (Quad) holding which belongs to Viktor Pinchuk.    

ZAO Amedia is the largest Russian producer of telefilms. It was founded by Aleksandr Akolov in 2002 year. Main lines of Amedia’ activity are production and distribution of TV content (TV series and shows for Pervyi Kanal, STS and Ren-TV channels). The company is in partnership with Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Disney, TeLeFe, RCN, Tepuy, Caracol, Paramount. The company’s cash from, according to its own estimates, amounted to $60 million in 2006 year.
