“Studio 1+1” net revenue amounted to $125 million in 2007 year Print

Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (CME) announced financial results for its fiscal 2007 year. According to the company’s report, that is accessible for MediaBusiness, “Studio 1+1” net revenue for 2007 year amounted to $125 323 million, which is by $30 million more than in 2006 year. Meanwhile, “Studio 1+1” EBITDA  as compared to the previous year decreased from $29.9 million to $27 million.    

Generally, the company’s financial results met the forecasts of CME which were announced in October 2006. But the rates of Kino and Siti TV channels didn’t reach the expected $3 million: the net revenue of both companies increased from $1,195 million to $2,65 million as compared to the previous year. At the same time the negative EBITDA figure of these channels increased from -$3,713 million to -$7,293 million.    

As for the final quarter of 2007 year, “Studio 1+1” net revenue grew year-on-year from $34,297 million up to $44,965 million, but its EBITDA decreased from $13,799 million to $12,211 million. The net revenue  of Kino and Siti TV channels increased up to $782 000 in the final quarter as compared to $441 000 in the previous quarter.  

 “Studio 1+1” TV channel is the nationwide Ukrainian-language TV channel. In 2007 year, its audience aged 18 years and over amounted to 16.03%. The TV channel covers about 95% of the Ukrainian territory. It was launched in September 1995. In July 2004, “Studio 1+1” started broadcasting on a 24-hour basis. In July 2006, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine extended the channel’s broadcasting license by 10 years. 90% of the company belongs to Central Media Enterprises Ltd. Oleksandr Rodnyansky and Borys Fuksman (Inter Media) own the other 10%. In the first half of 2007 year, the company’s net revenue was $40.78 million, its EBITDA was minus $1.8 million.
