Ukrtelecom can’t be bought by a company with a state-owned share more than 25%, - by Ekonomicheskie Izvestiya Print

As Ekonomicheskie Izvestiya newspaper writes, no resident or non-resident companies with a state-owned share more than 25% are permitted to tender in privatization sale of Ukrtelecom, the monopolist of Ukrainian fixed-line telephony market. This was reported by Dmytro Parfenenko, a vice-chairman of State Property Fund of Ukraine. This condition eliminates all Western-European companies from the list of potential tender participants. 

OJSC Ukrtelecom is the national operator of fixed-line telephony in Ukraine (10 million subscribers).The state owns 93% of the company’s stock. Its revenue in 2006 amounted to $1.3 billion, its net profit amounted to $92.2 million.
