Following the results of 2007
financial year, Novyi Kanal (New Channel) TV company earned UAH 51.545 million
(about $10.2 m). This was reported by the website of Ukrainian Securities and
Novyi Kanal’s net profit grew by 33%
year-on-year as compared to UAH 38.549 million (about $7.6 m) in 2006 year. Its
revenue amounted to UAH 347.120 million (about $68.7 m) in 2007 year. In 2006,
it was UAH 234.966 million (about $46.5 m).
Novyi Kanal is the Ukrainian nationwide TV
channel. The technical coverage of the TV channel is 93%. Its targeted audience
is people from 14 to 49 years. In the third quarter of 2007, the Novyi Kanal’s share
of audience from 14 to 49 years was 9.5%, its share of audience from 18 years
and older was 6.06%. According to MediaBusiness’ estimates, the TV channel’s
revenues from commercial advertising dutind the first three quarters of 2007
amounted to $40-45 million. Novyi Kanal, ICTV, STB and M1 are parts of
Chetviorka (Quad) holding which belongs to Viktor Pinchuk.
