Sir Paul McCartney’s concert live broadcast, which took
place on 14 June at Novyi Kanal, got the audience share of 9.69% and the rating
of 2.74% (among people aged 18 years and over). The broadcast lasted three
hours and a half (from 20.30 to 24.00).
Among the audience aged 14-49 years
the concert’s share reached 12.06% and its rating amounted to 3.03%. The
average performance of the channel in May was: audience share of 7.42%, rating
of 1.01% (among people aged 18 years and over).
The results in Kyiv were especially
brilliant: the audience share of 36% and the rating of 9.3%, though the European
Football Championship game (Russia v. Greece) was broadcasted at the same time.
Novyi Kanal is the Ukrainian nationwide TV
channel. The technical coverage of the TV channel is 93%. Its targeted audience
is people from 14 to 49 years. In the third quarter of 2007, the Novyi Kanal’s
share of audience from 14 to 49 years was 9.5%, its share of audience from 18
years and older was 6.06%. The net revenue in 2007 year amounted to UAH 51.5 m.
Novyi Kanal, ICTV, STB and M1 are parts of Chetviorka (Quad) holding which
belongs to Viktor Pinchuk.
