The Song of discord Print

National Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (NTCU) blames cable providers that broadcast “RTR-Planet” for illegality of “Eurovision 2008” broadcasting.

«Torsat», that has exclusive rights to transmit Russian channel on Ukrainian territory, deflects all accusations and states, that “RTR-Planeta” indeed had rights for “Eurovision 2008” broadcasting. According to “Torsat”, NTCU had not such rights.

NTCU is going to start lawsuit on current issue as it convinced, that membership in European Broadcasting Union (EBU) gives it exclusive rights to broadcast EBU’s events in Ukraine.

“Torsat” representatives states that they are ready to face off with NTCU and will bring counteraccusations.

“Thorsat” Ltd was founded in 1998. It represents in Ukraine a number of thematic Ukrainian and international TV channels and works with over 500 television organizations. On the territory of Ukraine Thorsat operates in four main directions: distribution of Ukrainian television channels; distribution of international TV channels in cable and cellular television networks; protection of copyrights and neighboring rights of represented television channels on the territory of Ukraine; implementation of Ukrainian satellite television platform (DTH).
