Inter TV channel blames NTCU for wrecking tentative agreements Print

Inter TV channel claim, that it hasn’t signed a deal with National Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (NTCU) for buying sublicense on Olympics translations because of nonobservance of time limits and prescribed conditions by national broadcaster.

According to Serhiy Sozanovsky, chairman of board at Inter, NTCU has changed prescribed conditions many times and has tried to put new contract clauses.

NTCU representatives refused to comment on current issue.

Inter was to pay UAH 8,725 mln. (about $1,7 mln.) for the sublicense. The license cost “Pershiy Nazional`niy” (“First National”) TV channel only $0,9 mln., so if NTCU had sold sublicense to Inter, it would have gain $0,8 mln.

Inter TV channel is the nationwide Ukrainian TV channel with a target audience aged 18 years and over. It was launched in October 1996. The channel has 99.7% of technical coverage (GFK TV panel). It is the part of Inter group of companies, as well as K1, K2, Enter, Enter Film, Megasport and NTN TV channels. The share of audience aged 18 years and over in 2007 reached 22.13%, and the share of audience aged 14-49 was 16.28%.
