According
to Dmitriy Kotelenets, chief executive officer of Pershy Avtomobilny, his
channel refused to receive license for cable broadcasting because of the
license’s price – UAH 0,59 m.
“Pershy Avtomobilny TV channel already has license
for satellite broadcasting, that was received in October 2007. It allows
channel to broadcast its content in Ukraine and retransmit it in cable networks.
License for cable broadcasting was regarded as additional one. That is why,
when we received UAH 0,59 m. bill, we decided that this license is outrageous”,
Dmitriy Kotelenets said.
Pershy
Avtomobilny (First Automobile) TV channel was launched in testing mode on May 2008. Channel is
to start its full-mode broadcasting on September 2008. Ighor Didenko, president
of the “Autocenter” publishing house keeps 80% share of the channel, while
Irina Tverdovskaya, chief producer of the “Svit TV” keeps other 20%.
