Inter TV channel is going to pay about 2% of its net profit to the authors of music broadcasted by the channel Print

“Some of these days Inter TV channel’s next year budget must be approved”, said Leonid Pashkovsky, the director of the Ukrainian Agency for Copyright and Related Rights. According to him, the size of royalties paid to music authors hasn’t been discussed yet. But the informed sources say that royalties may amount to 2% of Inter TV channel’s net profit. The channel is going to transfer money to the agency, which is to distribute it among the authors, whose music was used in broadcast, including music video and music used in TV shows and commercials.

Let’s mention that for the moment only 7% of Ukrainian companies pay royalties to authors for using their music for commercial purposes.
